She started out her journey after receiving her legal training at Middle Temple in the United Kingdom and was called to the English Bar in 1969. Prior to bing admitted as an Advocate and Solicitor of the Supreme Court of Singapore in the year 1976, she received postgraduate legal training at the then University of Singapore.

Banking Expertise
Prior to entering the private practice sphere, Beng Khim worked with one of the top local banks and was amongst the founding staff members at the Bank of Singapore. She then practised independently under her own name for 21 years, from 1978 to 1999. Thereafter, Beng Khim practised as a consultant with Ong, Tan & Nair from 1999 to 2001.
