Qualifications
Soh Gim Chuan is an Advocate & Solicitor of the Supreme Court of Singapore, and has practised law for 45 years. He holds a Bachelor of Laws (Honours) from the National University of Singapore, and a Master of Education from Nanyang Technological University. Expertise His areas of practice include conveyancing, landlord and tenant, family law, probate, adoption, commercial law, banking law, company law, insolvency, labour law, industrial and road traffic accidents, constitutional law, criminal law, and litigation. Community Involvement In the area of community involvement, he is a Past President of Marina Junior Chamber and the Rotary Club of Bukit Timah, and a Past Assistant Governor of Rotary International, District 3310. He has been awarded Junior Chamber International’s Senatorship (the highest rank of honour in the international organization). Academia and Writing He is also involved in teaching and training, and has conducted training courses for UniSIM University, Singapore Institute of Management, Singapore Human Resource Institute, Singapore Association for Continuing Education, JCI Singapore, and various other organizations. He is an Adjunct Lecturer at Nanyang Polytechnic. He is the author of two books, Slices of Singapore (a book of essays on life in Singapore) and Number One Chicken (a novel), and Editor of the book Inspiring Jaycees of the World, a collection of inspiring personal stories from all over the world contributed by members of Junior Chamber International, an international leadership and civic organisation for young people with over 200,000 members in over 100 countries. He was the former Editor of Network, the quarterly magazine of RSVP Singapore, the Organization of Senior Volunteers. |
