Tito Isaac steps aside as Managing Partner

​After managing Tito Isaac & Co LLP for 25 years, Mr Tito Isaac has stepped aside as Managing Partner of the firm he founded in 1999. He has handed over the management of the firm to Mr Kawal Pal Singh and Ms Chong Yi Mei who have assumed the roles of Joint Managing Partners. Mr Isaac will now fully dedicate himself to legal practice and will be take on the designation of Founding Partner. This rejuvenation of management will place the firm in a better position to exploit future growth prospects.
 
Commenting on these developments, Managing Partner Chong Yi Mei said: “Over the past 25 years, Tito has taken the firm from a single-lawyer practice to a team of lawyers and support staff totalling 50. Under his management, he has fostered much growth for the firm. As we move forward, we intend to enhance our quality standards; we want things to be better than ever. We also aim to enhance our capabilities by building a united team that is behind this common goal.”
  
Agreeing with her, Managing Partner Kawal Pal Singh also paid tribute to Mr Isaac’s years of service, stating: “We are honoured to be taking over the management of the firm and are determined to ensure its continued evolution and growth.”
 
Mr Singh further clarified: “I would like to emphasize that Tito is not going anywhere. He remains our firm’s greatest asset. As our leading litigator, he brings unparalleled courtroom prowess, and with his extensive experience in corporate and commercial law, he excels as a boardroom lawyer. Tito's Story

​It was the 2nd of August 1999.
 
Tito Isaac was standing in the middle of Circular Road, in the heart of Singapore’s business and financial district. He was looking up at the attic window of a pre-war shophouse. He was only 29 years old and had started his legal career as a military prosecutor.
 
His wife Angela stood next to him; it was her 29th birthday. But she was about to spend it helping him move boxes and second-hand furniture up an impossibly long flight of stairs to the tiny shophouse attic he had rented for his new office.
 
Tito was branching out on his own.
 
He hired one secretary, bought two computers, and placed three client files on his desk. Then he got down to work – in a profession he truly loved.
 
This year, on the 2nd of August 2024, it is 25 years since Tito started climbing those long stairs. With his wife still by his side; with the encouragement of his brother; with the support and trust of the many clients whom Tito and the firm have served over the years; and with the outstanding efforts of the many lawyers and secretaries who still are, or once were, part of the firm – the team has now grown to a strength of 50.
 
The firm now occupies the penthouse floor at 1 North Bridge Road. The building has excellent elevators but, sometimes, Tito still takes the stairs – if only a few flights for some exercise.
