Qualifications
Nicholas graduated from the Singapore University of Social Sciences’ School of Law with a Juris Doctor in 2021 and was admitted as an Advocate and Solicitor of the Supreme Court of Singapore in 2023. Experienced Court Officer Nicholas is no stranger to the criminal justice system in Singapore. Prior to his mid-career switch, Nicholas spent over a decade with the State Courts (formerly known as the Subordinate Courts) as a court officer in the Criminal Courts under the Criminal Justice Division. There, he clerked with over 15 district judges with stints in the criminal mentions and trial courts. He last held the position of Assistant Head of the Criminal Trial Courts and, concurrently, the OIC of the Plead Guilty (PG) courts. 
Broad Experience, Including Corporate Work
Nicholas commenced his legal career as a practice trainee with a boutique firm and was trained in family law, litigation and corporate matters. Prior to joining the firm, he spent close to two years as an in-house counsel, first as legal and compliance counsel with a blockchain and digital asset company and subsequently in a similar role with a financial institution. Block Chain, Digital Assets, Financial Services In addition to corporate and commercial law, Nicholas specialises in blockchain, digital assets, and financial services regulations and compliance. Legal Technology and Innovation Officer Nicholas also serves as the firm’s Legal Technology and Innovation Officer, where he is responsible for and assists management in driving the firm’s technology strategy, identifying and implementing innovative legal technology solutions, and championing the use of technology to improve internal workflows and how legal services are delivered. |
